A short, dramatic story that doesn't make sense....Advait

This is a dramatic, short story which doesn't make all that much sense. I say this because in the beginning of the story, Raha talks about how everything in life is pretty and nice. Her parents are great and she is lucky to go to school. Raha emphasises on how much she loves her parents a lot and for the first few paragraphs, everything is nice and happy. At the end however, she says the following : " Still, something mysterious whispered inside me, the familiar and troublesome heart beats of time, beating fear, caution, expectation, sadness, happiness, laughter, anxiety, and contentment all at once. Days are stops, hours are alarms, seconds are reminders...-of what?"This tells the reader that something is going to happen....something BIG!!!! To me, it almost sounds as if she is guilty or anxious.
At the end of the story, Raha talks about her dying. Instead of her physically dying, I think she means she is a spirtual death or a mental death. Raha is saying that if she marries Fahid, she will die (again, not physically). However, I think that she is seriously overdramatizing it. She could run away.......
