The Assassination of light at the River's flow... Daniela rojas

After i finished reading The Assassination of Light at the River's flow,  i felt really sad because of what the girl has been through, but 2 things seems to pop out at me. first, it is kind of ironic how in the beginging of the story, Raha goes to bording school, but when she is there, she tries to avoid any bad news; as in she never listens to the newspapers and televisions and radios unless its important. During the begining of the story, she makes her parents sound like the perfect people to have for parents. Then, the second half of the story, she faces an arranged marriage, ( with a guy who is fat and ugly) which is worst than most things, and her mother beats her for not agreeing with them. Second, i thought the way the story was written in a weird way, maybe the author was trying to add more emotion to the situation, but if you take out the descriptions of everything, you get a girl who is spoiled from bordering school and she comes home to get married forcefully by mostly her mom. I understand how the girl must feel sad about her arranged marriage and it must be hard, but i think it would have been taken more seriously if it had more of the plot and less of descriptions of randoms things that tie to the story.
